Can-do 1, post 1: Let's make a business! Friday, January 26, 2007 I read an article in the New York Times today about teenagers with businesses. Naturally, I would like to start a business of my own. I figure you're here either because you're interested in following me as I try to do this or because you want a business of your own. So I prepared a few questions that those following this can-do should ask themselves: Motivation? Ideas for a business? Inventory? Game plan? And here goes. What am I motivated by? Oh, that's easy. Money. I am motivated by profit, plain and simple. All the projects with creative processes that interest me are too large-scale for my (financial and time) resources. What do I have in mind? An e-Bay business, selling used books. However, there will be a nifty little quirk... And I'll be getting my inventory from where? There are tons of thrift stores around. Periodically, I'll go scouring the stores for cheap (as in, around $1) books in good condition. So what's my game plan? I'll buy new stock every month-or-so, and put new books up for sale one or more times a week. I'll mail the books over the weekend. Comment! (2) | Recommend! | Categories: starting a business [t] |
